Let the number be x,

according to the question:

four fifths of x = two thirds of x + 10

==> 4x / 5 = 2x / 3 + 10

==> 4x / 5 = 2x + 30 / 3

==> 12x = 10x + 150

==> 12x - 10x = 150

==> 2x = 150

==> x = 75

hence, the required number is 75

let the unknown number be x

now according to the question,

four fifth of a number = 10 more than two third of the number

From here,

4/5 of x = 10 + 2/3 of x

4x/5 = 10 + 2x/3

4x/5 - 2x/3 = 10

LCM will be 15

Now,

12x - 10x upon 15 = 10

2x/15 = 10

2x = 150

therefore, x = 75
