Total number 1 to 20 = 20

i) Prime numbers

Prime numbers in 1 to 20 : 2 , 3 , 5 , 7 , 11 , 13 , 17 , 19

So the 8 Prime numbers in 1 to 20

P(E) = Number of favourable outcomes / Total

  = \frac{8}{20}  \\  \\  =  \frac{2}{5}


ii) Composite Numbers

Composite number in 1 to 20 : 4 , 6 , 8 , 9 , 10 , 12 , 14 , 15 , 16 , 18 , 20

So the 11 Compostie numbers are in 1 to 20

P(E)
 =  \frac{11}{20}


iii) a number divisble by 3

Number divisible by 3 in 1 to 20 : 3 , 6 , 9 , 12 , 15 , 18

So the 6 numbers divisble by 3 in 1 to 20


P(E)
 =  \frac{6}{20}  \\  \\  =  \frac{3}{10}
