The circumference of the base of a 10 m height conical tent is 47.14 metres. Calculate the length of canvas used in making the tent if width of canvas is 1.5 m. (Use π=3.14).

{}{ \huge{ \underline{ \mathfrak{ \pink{Solution - }}}}}

We have,

Circumference of the circular base of the cone = 2πr = 47.14 m.

Height (h) = 10 m.

2×3.14×r= 47.14

6.28r=47.14

r=47.1/6.28

r= 7.5 m.

Slant height(l)= √(10^2+7.5^2)=√150 = 12.24 m

Curved surface area of tent = πrl = 3.14×7.5×12.24

=288.25m^2

Hence ,the length of 1.5 m wide canvas deeded

= 288.25/1.5

=192.16m.
