Fuse is a device connected in a circuit. It works on the principal of Joules law of heating. The wire used in fuse has very low melting and boiling point. The wire of fuse melts when excess current passes through it.

Whenever there is a shrinkage of current and a high current flows through circuit, wire of fuse melts and thus prevents appliances which are connected in circuit to be damaged.

Answer 2:

The area around a magnet where magnetic force is experienced is called Magnetic field lines. Magnetic field lines decreases when distance from magnet is increased and magnetic field lines increases whenever distance from magnet is decreases.

No, a monopole magnet can't exist in nature, magnets are always dipole. It means magnet always has both north and south pole.
