Friction is a force which opposes the movement of an object, friction is caused when two object slide each other. This friction is caused due to the small ridges and groves present on everything, these small ridges are invisible to the naked eye. As they are present on everything, when two objects slide each other, these ridges get interlocked, causing to slow down the motion. This we call it as friction
