acceleration due to gravity:
g = GM/ r^2
now mass is doubled I.e.
M' = 2M
diameter is also doubled I.e.
r' = 2r
now applying the variables in the formula gives
g' = G M' / r'^2
g' = G * 2M / (2r)^2
g' = 2GM/4r^2
g' = GM/2r^2
g' = g/2
acceleration due to gravity is halved.
