Question - The boiling point of water is lower in Shimla than in Delhi . why?

Detailed Answer :-

Boiling point can be defined as the temperature at which the liquid’s vapour pressure is equal to the external atmospheric pressure.

Shimla is located at a high elevation from the sea level. There the atmospheric pressure goes on decreasing as we go higher and higher and hence the boiling point of water is low.

On the other hand boiling point of water in Delhi is high as compared to Shimla due to low atmospheric pressure.
