Question
The mileage obtained by a car is directly proportional to the average speed
at which it is travelling and is inversely proportional to the passenger load.
The car gets a mileage of 20 kmph when it is travelling at a speed of 60
kmph and the passenger load is 150 kg. What will be the mileage when the
car is travelling at a speed of 70 kmph with a passenger load of 140 kg?

Answer:

25

Step-by-step explanation:

mileage ∝ speed

mileage ∝ 1/ passenger load

therefore mileage ∝ speed/ passenger load

m = k*s/l

where k= constant, s=speed, l= passenger load.

now k = m*l/s

k=20*150/60

k= 50

now m= k*s/l

m= 50* 70/150

m= 25
