Question:The value of 'g' on earth's surface is 9.8 ms s-2
Suppose the earth suddenly shrinks to one-third of its
present size without losing any mass. What is the
value of g on the surface of shrinked earth ?
Answer: 22.05 m/s²

Explanation:

Acceleration of gravitation,

a= GM/R²

Where,

M is mass of earth and R is separation between both masses.

If volume is reduce, keeping mass and separation between them same then.

From the formula it is clear that acceleration of gravity will remain constant.

Hence, value of gwill be 9.8ms −²
