At the top , it becomes stationary due gravitational pull of earth and then return back

As we know, velocity = displacement/time

As it returns to its initial position the displacement is 0 (zero) due to which velocity is zero ( because , 0/time= 0)

Acceleration due to gravity is acting upon the ball which is equal to -9.8 m/s2 (negative sign indicates that the direction of displacement n acceleration are opposite)

Thus, at the top velocity is 0 & acceleration is -9.8 m/s.

♨ Question:-

  • The velocity of a body moving at an initial speed of 700m/s and having an acceleration of  14 m/s after 4 s will be

♨ Given:-

  • Initial Speed of body = 700 m/s

  • Acceleration of body = 14m/s

  • Time taken = 4 s

♨ To find:-

  • The final velocity of a body

♨ Solution:-

  • ⇒ V = u + at

  • ⇒ V = 700 + 14 × 4

  • ⇒ V = 700 + 56 m/s

  • ⇒ V = 756 m/s

Therefore the final velocity of a body is 756 m/s.
