FIRST WORLD WAR: THE EPIC

Introduction:

World War is one of the most dangerous event in the world during the beginning 20th century. Though the horror is doubled in next world war, the horror is not reduced here. Let us see the events in detail.

FIRST WORLD WAR:

CAUSES:

The world was divided into two major groups. That is, Triple Alliance and Triple Entente. Triple Alliance is with Britain, France and Russia. Triple Entente is with Germany and two more countries. They expanded their arms expansion and there could be an danger of war. But the major cause is happened. when Serbian lad killed the Austrian Prince Francis Ferdinand and Princess Isabella to regain Bosnia and Herzegovina. Now, Russia, Britain, France, Serbia, Romania are Allied Powers. Then, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Turkey are Central Powers.

COURSE:

The course of the war is between July 28, 1914 to November 11 1918. Battle of Jutland and Battle of Tannenberg are the two important sub wars of this war. Both the powers suffered a lot but not more than Germany. In the mean time, Germany drowned four American merchant ships including Lusitania which kills 100 of people and it angered the President. And due to the October Revolution, Russia left the war. Entry of America created a big threat to Central Powers. Finally, Germany surrendered to Allied Powers on November 11th 1918. But the king of Germany Kaiser William II is escaped to Holland and died after some years.

RESULTS:

Overseas possessions of Germany were divided among the victorious nations. Germany was forced to give Alsace and Lorraine and Saar Coal field to France for a lease of 15 years. Monarchies were abolished in some countries. Germann armies were reduced forcibly. It is a great insult to Germany and they were out on revenge.

Interesting Facts:

1) Hitler thought that Jews were responsible for surrender of Germany. So, he killed the Jews mercilessly.

2) Like First World War, America came to Second World War only for Revenge. In 1, Germany and in 2 Japan.

3) Though Italy is one of the victorious country, it later joined with Germany to get Financial support.
