☞ Height of Tally is 3√3 m

━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\huge\sf\blue{Given}

✭ There are two giraffes named Shorty and Tally

✭ There's an ant placed somewhere between these two giraffes

✭ Height of shortly is 2√3 m

✭ From the ant's point of view the angle of elevation for these two giraffes are 60° & 30°

━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\huge\sf\gray{To \:Find}

◈ Height of Tally?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\huge\sf\purple{Steps}

\large\underline{\underline{\sf Let}}

  • AB be the height of Tally
  • ED be the height of Shortly
  • BD be the distance between the two giraffes
  • CD be x which is equal to the distance between the ant and Shortly
  • BC be 11-x which is equal to the distance between the ant and Tally

In ∆EDC

\sf tan \theta = \dfrac{Opposite}{Adjacent}

\sf tan \ 60^{\circ} = \dfrac{ED}{CD}

\sf tan \ 60^{\circ} = \dfrac{2\sqrt{3}}{x}

\sf \bigg\lgroup tan \ 60^{\circ} = \sqrt{3}\bigg\rgroup

\sf \sqrt{3} = \dfrac{2\sqrt{3}}{x}

\sf \sqrt{3} \times x = 2\sqrt{3}

\sf x = \dfrac{2\sqrt{3}}{\sqrt{3}}

\sf \green{x = 2 \ m}

So then the value of ABC will be,

\sf BC = 11-x

\sf BC = 11-2

\sf \red{BC = 9 \ m}

In ∆ABC

»» \sf tan \theta = \dfrac{Opposite}{Adjacent}

»» \sf tan \ 30^{\circ} = \dfrac{AB}{BC}

»» \sf tan \ 30^{\circ} = \dfrac{AB}{9}

\sf\bigg\lgroup tan \ 30^{\circ} = \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{3}}\bigg\rgroup

»» \sf \dfrac{1}{\sqrt{3}} = \dfrac{AB}{9}

»» \sf 1 \times 9 = \sqrt{3} \times AB

»» \sf 9 = \sqrt{3} AB

»» \sf AB = \dfrac{9}{\sqrt{3}}

Rationalising the denominator,

\sf AB = \dfrac{9}{\sqrt{3}} \times \dfrac{\sqrt{3}}{\sqrt{3}}

\sf AB = \dfrac{9\sqrt{3}}{3}

\sf \orange{AB = 3\sqrt{3} \ m}
