Given :  Two trains, each 40 m long are travelling in opposite direction with equal velocity 20 m/s.

To Find : The time of crossing

Solution:

Two trains, each 40 m long

Hence distance to be covered = 40 + 40  = 80 m

travelling in opposite direction with equal velocity 20 m/s.

Hence net velocity = 20 + 20 = 40 m/s

Time = Distance / Speed

=> Time = 80 / 40

=> Time = 2 secs

Hence  The time of crossing is  2 secs.
