Question

Upendra has two daughters (Sukhalata and Punyalata) and one son (Sukumar). Sukumar has

one son named Satyajit. Punyalata has two daughters (Kalyani and Nalini). This family tree

has been shown in the figure below.

Let us define a relation R as follows,

• R := {(A, B)|A and B are first cousins, i.e. their parents are siblings}.

• S := {(A, B)|A is son of B}.

which one is true:-
(1) (satyajit ; sukumar) "belongs to" S but (sukumar;satyjit) "doesn't belongs to " S
(2) R is transitive relation
(3) (satyajit;shakuntala) is niether in R nor in S
(4)( sukumar;upendra) belongs to S and (satyajit;sukumar ) belongs to S but (satyajit; upendra) doesn't belongs to S

Answer:

option : 1 and 3

Step-by-step explanation:

option 3 is correct because

S:= {(A,B) A is son of B}

sukumar is a son of upendra € S , satyajit is a son of sukumar  € S

but you can not say  becaude satyajit is a grand  son of upendra
