Answer:

Average speed

The average speed is calculated by finding the ratio of the total distance travelled by the body to the total time taken in the journey

i.e.

Average \:  speed =  \frac{total \: distance \: travelled}{total \: time \: taken}

For example

The car has travelled a total distance of 4 km + 8 km+3 km = 15 km and the time travelled is 9 a.m. to 12 noon i.e. 3 hrs

Hence, the average speed of the car is

 \frac{15 \: km}{3 \: hrs}  = 5 \: km \: per \: hour

Answer:

Average speed is calculated by dividing the total distance that something has traveled by the total amount of time it took it to travel that distance. Speed is how fast something is going at a particular moment. Average speed measures the average rate of speed over the extent of a trip.
