Nervous tissue contains highly specialised unit cells called nerve cells or neurons. Neurons have the ability to receive stimuli from within other outside the body and to conduct impulses to different parts of body. The impulse travels from one Neuron, to another neuro5. Each neuron has following 3 parts:-

◾The cyton which contains a central nucleus and cytoplasm with characteristics deeply stained particles called Nissl's granules.

◾The axon which is single, long cylindrical process of uniform diameters.

◾The dendrons which are short processes arising from the cyton and further branching into dendrites.
