The multicolored arc of a rainbow is produced by sunlight striking raindrops beneath a rain cloud.

violet bends more than blue and Blue bends more than green and so on.

The light reflects off the inside of the droplet, separating into its component wavelengths--or colors. When light exits the droplet, it makes a rainbow.
