A geometric progression has a common ratio which is equal throughout the series. The common ratio can be found by dividing a term with its previous term.
In the above examples,
2, 6, 18, 54 has the common ratio of 6/2 = 3 which is constant throughout the series.
Similarly for the other series.
However,
3, 6, 9, 12 has the common ratio of 6/3 = 2. However it is not constant throughout the series. Therefore it is not a geometric progression.
