Answer:

Why was the cat more interested in the broom rather than anything else.

Dear reader, unfortunately we do not have the full text to explain the story. We appreciate it if you can send us a copy of the story as an image/scanned-copy/photograph/handwritten to [email protected]

Do you think that the cat and the broom belonged to Miss Bellows? Why?

A cat and a broomstick – the combination was suggestive. What did the combination suggest?

The combination, a cat and a broomstick, is a clear indication of the presence of a witch. In the past witches were believed to have flown in the air on a broom and they had cats to assist them.

Why did the narrator think that there was something supernatural around him?

What did Mr. Bond know about Miss Bellows before meeting her?

Why did Mr. Bond say that the cat had him?

Mr. Bond said that the cat had him because it seemed to him that the cat was more important in his cottage than he was. The cat least minded his presence in the cottage but he could not ignore the cat’s presence at all.

Do you think that Miss Bellows was a real witch? Explain.

Yes, Miss Bellows was a real witch as per the story. Like the witches of the past, she too had supernatural powers and a very mysterious looks. She was able to drink boiling water, was able to fly on a broomstick and owned a mysterious cat. She was an old lady, the oldest in the hill station so there were possibilities that she had been alive for hundreds of years like the other witches.
