How are hobbies useful to us?

Hobbies are the most wonderful medium to keep us productively occupied. For example if someone has the hobby of reading, one can reap huge benefits out of it. Language efficiency, imagination, innovation, creativity, etc. will surely make our personality more agreeable.

How do our hobbies keep us away from the bad influences?

Hobbies are quite helpful in keep us away from the bad influences. In the absence of a hobby one would feel tempted to go out with friends. In their company one might get exposed to bad habits such as smoking, drinking, etc. However, our hobby may keep us entreatingly busy thus giving us no excuse to be tempted.
