Answer:

the meaning of rat race is a way of life in modern society, in which people compete with each other for power and money. A competitive examination is an examination where candidates are ranked according to their grades and/or percentile and then top rankers are selected . If the examination is open for n positions, then the first n candidates in ranks pass, the others are rejected. Because we are humans and it is in our primal instinct to compete. We have a constant urge to define our supremacy. Even if one doesn't have that will to compete ,his society compels him. It all begins right from childhood

  • School marks
  • No of sports you play or excel in
  • Competition exams for college entrance
  • Grades in college
  • No of extra curricular activities you participate
  • Fight for highest paid job
  • Constant appraisal
  • No. of houses or cars you buy

Every action we take in life is to compete with someone. And this competitive nature is what makes us human on top of the food chain with highest intellect. It gives a person motive to create something new, find ways to do something better than other and in a way all this helps every human being.

Being competitive is good and that's what has brought humans from stone age to this stage where nations are competing to colonize mars.

Our life is a race without the knowledge of an end point as we are running to beat each other.

Thank you
