Dowry is a great evil of the society. Dowry leads to a large number of crimes (example harassment, domestic violence, dowry murder etc). This system is followed by almost all persons of the country either by poor or by rich. And this evil is increasing day by day because the rich people give dowry to their daughters by naming it as a gift which will help their daughter in future. What a disgusting thought. I want to ask question to these type of rich that - “Really your gifts which are actually dowry help your daughter to her whole life? If yes then why you find a groom which is employed? If yes then you can also marry your daughter with the unemployed, right?
Please stop practicing this evil. And this is not only the responsibility of bride's family in fact this is the first responsibility of groom's family to say NO to Dowry. If bride's family saying this is a small gift, then this is your responsibility to strictly say NO. Then ofcourse they don't regret your decision, because they only want to see their daughter happy.
In most cases groom's family force to the bride's family for dowry before marriage. And after marriage their demand increases day by day. I have a request to the bride's family that-please don't give your daughter to these type of family, if you are thinking that who will marry to your daughter, then I have also a request for your this type of thinking - please don't think so and also don't think what other people say about your daughter if she will not marry. If you will give your daughter to these type of people it clearly means you are selling your daughter. Instead of thinking bad thoughts you have to raise your daughter as a well educated girl that you and your daughter don't need to bow head in front of others.
But I feel ashamed that a very few people near about 1% people follow this. What about the rest 99%? Most of the people say what they are practicing dowry, so why not I? I have also a question for these people - If they are doing wrong, so why not you to become first and correct them? Why not you to become first to remove this evil? Why not you support that 1% people?
I have heard a lot of times the peoples say that hmari taraf dahej chalta h, nhi lenge to log kya kahenge, hmari izzat km ho jaegi.

Dahej is common in our side, if we we will not take then what other people say, our family honour decrease.
Oh! Really? What a rubbish thinking, you are doing this for your family honour? Then what will happen with your honour when your daughter face harassment and domestic evil because of dowry? Is your honour increase?
And this is the responsibility of every individual that avoid this evil, promise to yourself that you will never practice this and please raise your voice against this evil.
