quick plz... hallock meeting with the ghost was by chance. what chance this meeting?

As Helen appeared in front of John, he was not thinking on her being a ghost! He assumed her to be a lady and not a ghost. Nextly, when Helen told him that she was a ghost, she told john that she had been coming from the Writers Inspiration Bureau as she was assigned the job of helping John.After this John was a little shocked but was more terrified and frightened on thought of her wife assuming him to cheat her.

This happened when he was sitting in his living room waiting for some idea to drawn upon him as a plot for his ghost story. He was fed up and starting at the ceiling when suddenly he said: "This writing business is delightful isn't it?" This is lead to his meeting with ghost of helen.
