Answer:

The cost of saree = Rs 11,000

The cost of handbag = Rs 2000

The cost of pair of shoes = Rs 1000

Step-by-step explanation:

Assume the cost of Handbag = x

and Cost of pair of shoes = y

Case 1:

Cost of saree = 9000 + x

Case 2:

Cost of saree + Cost of handbag = 12000 + y

9000 + x + x = 12000 + y

9000 + 2x = 12000 + y. (1)

Now the cost of all three items is = 14000

9000 + x + x + y = 14000

9000 + 2x + y = 14000

9000 + 2x = 14000 - y. (2)

Now equate Equation (1) and Equation (2)

We get

14000 - y = 12000 + y

14000 - 12000 = y + y

2000 = 2y

y = 1000

Therefore the cost of pair of shoes = y = Rs 1000

Substitute the value of y in Equation (1)

we get

9000 + 2x = 12000 + 1000

2x = 13000 - 9000

2x = 4000

x = 2000

Therefore The cost of handbag. = x = Rs 2000

Therefore cost of saree

= 9000 + x

= 9000 + 2000

= Rs 11000
