‘Loosing heart’ can mean:
• feeling depressed or sad for having failed at the given task
• to loose the mood to ever take another challenge again
To ‘not loose heart’ means the opposite of the above points, and:
• to forget this defeat and strive for a victory next time
• or, contradictory to the previous point, to remember it as a lesson to work harder to achieve success
• basically to be a good sport

It is the biggest test as the person will have to accept the fact that he/she is lacking something, or is wrong, or deficient of a certain quality which the opponent possesses. They will have to be highly understanding of the truth, which is, there is always a person above/better than you
