Answer:

Let breadth be b

then...

2(l+b)=20

=>2(6+x)=20

=>12+2x=20 (open the brackets)

=>2x=20-12

=>2x=8

=>x=8/2

=>x=4

Verification:-

if

breadth = 4cm

length = 6cm

perimeter = 2(l+b)

                 = 2(6+4)

                 =2x10

                 = 20cm

hence verified

hope this helps... :)

Given :

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 20cm
  • Length of Rectangle = 6cm

To Find :

  • Breadth of Rectangle.

Solution :

\longmapsto\tt{Length=6cm}

\longmapsto\tt{Perimeter=20cm}

Using Formula :

\longmapsto\tt\boxed{Perimeter\:of\:Rectangle=2(l+b)}

Putting Values :

\longmapsto\tt{20=2(6+b)}

\longmapsto\tt{\cancel\dfrac{20}{2}=6+b}

\longmapsto\tt{10-6=b}

\longmapsto\tt\bold{b=4cm}

So , The breadth of Rectangle is 4cm...

VERIFICATION :

\longmapsto\tt{20=2(l+b)}

\longmapsto\tt{20=2(6+4)}

\longmapsto\tt{20=2(10)}

\longmapsto\tt\bold{20=20}

HENCE VERIFIED
