Qutubuddin Aibak, a ruler of medieval India, was the first ruler of the Delhi Sultanate and also the founder of theSlave dynasty. He was a Turkish of the Aybak tribe and was the sultan for only four years, 1206-1210.....

Mamluk dynasty
The first Sultan of the Mamluk dynasty was Qutb ud-Din Aibak (قطب الدین ایبک), who had the titular name of Sultan (سلطان) and reigned from 1206 to 1210. He temporarily quelled the rebellions of Nasir-ud-Din Qabacha of Multan and Tajuddin Yildoz of Ghazni.
