Answer:

(13/5,0)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the coordinates of A be (x,0)

From figure:

⇒ tanθ = 3/(5 - x)   ---- (1)

Slope of incident ray:

⇒ tan(π - θ) = -2/(x - 1)

⇒ -tan θ = -2/(x - 1)

⇒ tan θ = 2/(x - 1)  ---- (2)

On solving (1) & (2), we get

⇒ (3/5 - x) = 2/(x - 1)

⇒ 3(x - 1) = 2(5 - x)

⇒ 3x - 3 = 10 - 2x

⇒ 5x = 13

⇒ x = 13/5.

Therefore, the required coordinates of point A = (13/5,0).

Hope it helps!
