pollination and fertilization are important events in the life of angiosperms.

since the gametes of the angiosperms are non motile they need to be brought together physically to bring about fertilization. hence pollination is needed. pollination can be brought about by biotic agents like animals, insects or by abiotic agents like wind and water.

angiosperms are sexually reproducing organisms . hence fertilization of male and female gametes is necessary for development of zygote which in turn gives rise to new organisms.
