The Rashtrakutas in the Deccan were the subordinate to the chalukyas of Karnataka. It was the mid-8th century qhen Dantidurga ,a Rashtrakuta chief ,overthrew his Chalukya overload and performed a ritual called HIRANYA GARBHA with the help of Brahmanas.
