In India , two main types of cultivating crops are there ->>Rabi and Kharif crops

These types of crops are sown at the beginning of the winter season (October-December ) and harvested by March or April.So, they are also known as winter crops.

{\bf{\green{Kharif\:crop}}}

These types of crops are sown at the beginning of south-west monsoon, during June or July. They are harvested after the monsoon in September or October. Therefore, they are known as summer crops.

There is another type of crop which are harvested in June.

Meaning→

→ Kharif crops can be described as the crops which are sown with the beginning of the rainy season.

→ Rabi crops are the crops that are sown after the end of the monsoon, i.e. during the winter season.

Major Crops ●

for kharif→Rice, maize, cotton, groundnut, jowar, bajra, etc.

for rabi→Wheat, peas, gram, oilseeds, barley, etc.

Requirement ●

→kharif crop requires huge amount of water and hot weather to grow.

→Rabi crop requires warm climate for seed germination and cold climate to grow
