{\bf{\green{Rabi\:crop}}}

These types of crops are sown at the beginning of the winter season (October-December ) and harvested by March or April.So, they are also known as winter crops.

{\bf{\green{Kharif\:crop}}}

These types of crops are sown at the beginning of south-west monsoon, during June or July. They are harvested after the monsoon in September or October. Therefore, they are known as summer crops.

The Indian cropping season is classified into two main seasons-(i) Kharif and (ii) Rabi based on the monsoon. The kharif cropping season is from July –October during the south-west monsoon and the Rabi cropping season is from October-March (winter). The crops grown between March and June are summer crops.
