Answer:

Given:-

Rabin bought 5 apples for 30 and sold each apple at 8, how much percent did he gain?

To Find:-

Percent of gain.

Note:-

Here, First we will take S.P. in 5 apples amount from 1 apple amount; C.P. is the amount at which things are brought and S.P. is the amount at which things are sold.

For calculating Gain Percentage, Gain needs to be there i.e. Gain = S.P. - C.P.

Gain Percentage ( % ) =  \frac{Gain}{C.P.} × 100

Solution:-

[ Note first point ]

 \huge\red{C.P. \ \ for \ \ 5 \ \ apples = ₹30}

 \huge\red{\ \ S.P. \ \ for \ \ 1 \ \ apple = ₹8, For \ \ 5 \ \ apples = ?}

We know that~

▪︎ S.P. \ \ for \ \ 1 \ \ apple = ₹8

▪︎ S.P. \ \ for \ \ 5 \ \ apples = ₹8 × 5

▪︎ S.P. \ \ for \ \ 5 \ \ apples = ₹40

 \huge\pink{S.P. \ \ for \ \ 5 \ \ apples = ₹40}

[ Now, we will calculate Gain ]

 \huge\red{C.P. = ₹30, S.P. = ₹40}

 \huge\red{\ \ \ \ Gain = ?}

According to note second point~

▪︎ Gain = S.P. - C.P.

▪︎ Gain = ₹40 - ₹30

▪︎ Gain = ₹10

 \huge\pink{Gain = ₹10}

___________________________________________________

[ Now, we will calculate Gain Percentage ( % ) ]

 \huge\red{Gain = ₹10, C.P. = ₹30}

 \huge\red{\ \ \ \ Gain Percentage = ?}

According to note third point~

▪︎ Gain \ \ Percentage = \frac{Gain}{C.P.} × 100

▪︎ Gain \ \ Percentage = \frac{₹10}{₹30} × 100

▪︎ Gain \ \ Percentage = \frac{₹1,000}{₹30}

After reducing~

▪︎ Gain \ \ Percentage = \frac{100}{3}

▪︎ Gain = \frac{100}{3} %

Mixed fraction~

▪︎ Gain \ \ Percentage = 33 \ \frac{1}{3}

▪︎ Gain = 33 \ \frac{1}{3} %

 \huge\green{Gain = \frac{100}{3}} %  \huge\green{ \ \ or \ \ 33 \ \frac{1}{3}} %

Answer:-

Hence, Rabin Gain =  \frac{100}{3} % or  33 \ \frac{1}{3} %.
