The number of bananas Rachel has 21.

Given:

Rachel has some apples and bananas. The ratio of apples to bananas is 2 : 3 She has 14 apples.

To find:

Work out how many bananas Rachel has.

Solution:

The ratio of apples and bananas that Rachel has = 2 : 3

Let 2x and 3x be the number of apples and bananas

It is given that Rachel has 14 apples

=> Number of apples, 2x = 14

=> x = 7  [ Divided by 2 into both sides]

Hence,

The number of bananas can be calculated as follows

Number of bananas, 3x = 3(7) = 21

Therefore,

The number of bananas Rachel has 21.
