Let the number of books sold by Rachel on Monday be m,
then according to question,
equation formed will be --
m+2m+(2m-6) = 19
5m = 19+6
5m = 25
m = 5
therefore, 5 books were sold by Rachel on Monday...

Let the number of books sold on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday be m,t,w.
Given that t = 2m ......(1)
w = t - 6 can be written as w = 2m - 6 .....(2)
m + t + w = 19 .... (3)
substitute 2 and 1 in 3,
m + 2m + 2m - 6 = 19
5m = 25
m =5
