Plastic (high density polyethylene) is insoluble in water.
- Most of the plastic buckets are manufactured from high density polyethylene.
- This particular plastic is completely insoluble in water, as it's an extremely solid substance and the internal bonds of the plastic polymers are much stronger than probable solute solvent bond between plastic and water.
- That's why, plastic buckets are safe to hold water,as there are no chance of plastic solubility or water absorption by plastic.
