Heya friend!!
Rajdeep here...

Do you know?
Radioactive emissions like Alpha Particles can be stopped by thin paper and human skin. Beta particles can be stopped by 5mm thick aluminium sheet or a few cm thick iron. However, the highly energetic electromagnetic radiation, gamma rays, can be stopped by few Metres thick concrete or few mm thick LEAD.

Thus, lead is a metal which can stop all the types of radiations emitted from the radioactive substances.
So radioactive substances should be stored in LEAD chambers/containers to prevent radiation.

Thanks!
