Radius of a circle is 10 cm and distance of a chord from the centre is 6 cm. Hence the length of the chord is

Let the centre of the Circle is O.

radius = OA = 10 cm

AB is the chord.

distance of a chord from the centre OM

OM = 6 cm

we know that ,

OM perpendicularly bisect AB.

i ) In ∆OMA , <OMA = 90°

By Phythogarian theorem ,

OA² = AM² + OM²

=> AM² = OA² - OM²

= 10² - 6²

= 100 - 36

= 64

AM = √64

AM = 8

Therefore ,

Chord ( AB ) = 2 × AM

= 2 × 8

= 16 cm

Therefore ,

Option ( A ) is correct.
