Let the centre of the Circle is O.
radius = OA = 10 cm
AB is the chord.
distance of a chord from the centre OM
OM = 6 cm
we know that ,
OM perpendicularly bisect AB.
i ) In ∆OMA , <OMA = 90°
By Phythogarian theorem ,
OA² = AM² + OM²
=> AM² = OA² - OM²
= 10² - 6²
= 100 - 36
= 64
AM = √64
AM = 8
Therefore ,
Chord ( AB ) = 2 × AM
= 2 × 8
= 16 cm
Therefore ,
Option ( A ) is correct.
