Radius of a circle is 5 cm. The length of a chord of the circle is 8 cm. Find the distance of the

chord from the centre.​

Answer:

the distance of the chord from the centre is perpendicular

base = 4cm ( half of 8cm , bcz its perpendicular to chord )

hypotheses = 5cm

so,

5^2 = p^2 +'4^2

p=√ 25 - 16

p = √9

p = 3cm ,

which is the distance of the chord from the centre.
