Answer: The total number of kernels on the ear of corn would be approximately 232.

Step-by-step explanation:

Dimensions for the given ear of corn

Radius, r= 6.6cm

Length, l= 11.2cm

Corn kernels are present on the lateral surface area of the ear of corn.

So,

Lateral surface area of the ear of corn= 2*pi*r*l= 2*22/7*6.6*11.2 =464.64cm^2

Since 1 sqcm area contains 2 corn kernels, so

Total number of kernels on the ear of corn= 464.64/2= 232.32

= 232 (approx).
