Radius of current carrying coil is 'R'. Then ratio
of magnetic fields at the centre of the coil to the
axial point, which is R√3 distance away from the
centre of the coil :-
(1) 1 : 1 (2) 1 : 2 (3) 1 : 4 (4) 8 : 1

Answer:

  • In the given question we have to find magnetic field to the centre of the coil, which is at

r \sqrt{3}

  • As we know magnetic field at the centre equal to = [ B ° / r ]........... (1)
  • Hence, using formula of B axial

B axial =

[B°] / ( \: r{}^{2}  + x {}^{2})  \frac{3}{2}

Putting the values we get,

[ B°] / (\: r{}^{2}  + r \sqrt{3}  {}^{2})  \frac{3}{2}

B° / (\: r{}^{2}  + r \sqrt{3}  {}^{2})   {}^{3}{} \frac{}{2}

B° / (4r {}^{2}) {}^{3}  \frac{}{2}

B ° / (2r)^2*3/2

  • Hence B axial = B° / 8r........... (2)

On diving equation (2) to (1)

[ B° / 8r ] ÷ [B °/ r ]

We get, 8:1 is the correct answer
