Rafiq and raman rubbed the leaves of a plotted plant with an oily cloth to give a glossy look. The plant died. Why?

The plant died on rubbing its leaves with oil because in contact with oil , there could not be any photosynthetic process as the leaves are the "Kitchen Of Plants" . The stomata (in contact with oil) could not do exchange gases. The chlorophyll (contact with oil) could trap photon particles or rather say sunlight.Hence there couldn't be any formation of glucose and hence the plant died.
