Let the ratio be 8x:3x

The difference between both ratio is 5x and numerical it is 35
So, x = 35/5
x = 7

Ratio be becomes 8(7) : 3(7)
= 56 : 21

Total things bought = 56+21
= 77

Out of which
Pencils = 56
Pen = 21

Hope it helps you
