(52-43)lakh=900000
900000/(5+1)=150,000
so the cp is 4300000+150000=4450000

Answer:

Hence, The cost price of the machine is Rs. 44.67 lac

Step-by-step explanation:

Selling price for the machine is given to be 53 lac

⇒ s.p. = 53 lac

Now, if he had sold it for 52 lac then the gain will be 5 times the former loss

⇒ S.P. = 52 lac

Let Cost price be C.P.

According to the condition given in the question,

⇒ 5 × ( C.P. - s.p.) = (S.P. - C.P.)

⇒ 5 × (C.P. - 43) = (53 - C.P.)

⇒ 6 × C.P. = 53 + 5 × 43

⇒ 6 × C.P. = 268

⇒ C.P. = 44.67 lac

Hence, The cost price of the machine is Rs. 44.67 lac
