Rahat Medicine Ltd.' has never given any importance to the suggestions of its employees. Every person holding managerial position in the company considers himself wiser than the other. They either help anybody nor get help from anybody. Last year, Mrs Sonali Chauhan was appointed Chief Manager of the company against a vacant post. She was an MBA from IIM Lucknow and had also five-year experience of the same post. Immediately after taking charge she decided to deal with both the problems of the company. She convened a meeting of all the employees and said, "Employees of all levels (managerial and non-managerial) are free to give their suggestions. Besides, the one who gives the best suggestion will be awarded a prize. In addition, she advised them to discard ego and extend help in each others work. We will have to give it the shape of a movement. Those who participate in this movement will be promoted at the earliest." This address had a positive effect on the employees. Both the problems of the company disappeared very soon. Kumari Sonali proved to be a good leader.

Answer:

The two principles of management mentioned in the above paragraph are:

1. Principle of Employee Involvement: "Employees of all levels (managerial and non-managerial) are free to give their suggestions. Besides, the one who gives the best suggestion will be awarded a prize."

Meaning: This principle emphasizes the importance of involving employees in the decision-making process and encouraging them to contribute their ideas and suggestions. By giving employees the freedom to share their suggestions, it promotes a sense of ownership, engagement, and teamwork within the organization. Recognizing and rewarding the best suggestion further motivates employees to actively participate and contribute to the company's improvement.

2. Principle of Collaboration and Cooperation: "Besides, she advised them to discard ego and extend help in each other's work. We will have to give it the shape of a movement. Those who participate in this movement will be promoted at the earliest."

Meaning: This principle highlights the significance of fostering a collaborative and cooperative work environment. It encourages employees to overcome personal ego and actively support each other in their work. By promoting a culture of cooperation and teamwork, the organization can achieve greater synergy and efficiency. The mention of giving it the shape of a movement indicates the intention to create a collective effort towards mutual assistance and improvement. Promoting those who actively participate in this movement further reinforces the value of collaboration and motivates employees to work together for the common goals of the organization.
