Rahil and Aisha have 18 mangoes.They now want to split them,Rahil who is 15 years old,feels that magoes should be divided in proportion to age.If Aisha is 12 years old how many mangoes will she get?​

Answer-

Let the no. of mangoes given to Rahil be - x

and no. of mangoes given to Aisha be - Y

Acc. to ques X+Y = 18

Their age proportions - 15:12=5:4

viz

$\frac{x}{y} = \frac{5}{4} \\ x = 18 - y \\ = > \frac{18 - y}{y} = \frac{5}{4} \\ = > 72 - 4y = 5y \\ = > 9y = 72 \\ = > y = 8$

So she will get 8 mangoes.
