Given :  Rahul and Ravi planned to play Business ( board game) in which they were supposed to use two dice.

To Find :

the probability that he got the sum of the two numbers appearing on the top face of the dice is 8?

the probability that he got the sum of the two numbers appearing on the top face of the dice is 13

Solution:

2 dice rolled hence 6 * 6 = 36

=> n(S) = 36

A =  sum of the two numbers appearing on the top face of the dice is 8

=> A = { (2 , 6) , ( 3 , 5) , ( 4 , 4) , ( 5 , 3) , ( 6 , 2) }

=> n(A) = 5

P(A) = n(A)/n(S)  = 5/36

B = sum of the two numbers appearing on the top face of the dice is 13

Maximum sum can be 6 + 6 = 12

Hence sum 13 not possible

B = { } = ∅

n(B) = 0

P(B) = 0

This is impossible event
