Answer:

labor charges is require for digging 10th meter = Rs. 650

Step-by-step explanation:

Depth up to which the well has to be dug out = 10 meters

Charges for first meter = Rs. 200

And there after the price increases by Rs. 50

So, the increase in the price will form an A.P. : 200, 250, 300, ....... and the common difference will be 50

Here, n = 10 ( depth up to which the well is to be dug out)

\text{Sum of an A.P. is given by : }\frac{n}{2}\times (2a+(n-1)\times d)\\\\\implies\text{Labor Charge = }\frac{10}{2}\times (400+(10-1)\times 50)\\\\\implies \text{Labor Charge = }5\times 850\\\\\implies\text{Labor charge = }4250

Now, we need to find the charge for the 10th meter or the last term of the resulting A.P.

Sum = \frac{n}{2}\times (a+l)\\\\\implies 4250=\frac{10}{2}\times (200+l)\\\\\implies l = 650

Hence, labor charges is require for digging 10th meter = Rs. 650
