Given :- Rahul ate too much junk food during winter vacations and gained 2.2 kilograms in December. then he went on a diet and lost 1.5 kilograms in January then he lost another 3.7 kilograms in February. Rahul wants to know what the total change in weight was over these three months which of the following matches the situation above ? (Refer to image for options.)

Solution :-

Given , Rahul ate too much junk food during winter vacations and gained 2.2 kilograms in December.

So,

  • in december rahul gained weight = 2.2kg .

Now, he went on a diet and lost 1.5 kilograms in January .

So,

  • in january rahul lost weight = 1.5kg .

Now, he lost another 3.7 kilograms in February.

So,

  • in february rahul lost weight = 3.7kg .

Therefore,

→ Total change in weight = gained 2.2 kg + lost 1.5 kg + lost 3.7 kg .

→ Total change in weight = (+2.2kg) + (-1.5kg) + (-3.7kg.)

→ Total change in weight = 2.2 + (- 1.5) + (- 3.7) . (option B) (Ans.)

Also,
